2008 - UPCOMING MOVIES (Part 2)

ONE MISSED CALL
Directed by French director Eric Valette,One missed is a remake from a 2003 Japanese horror film titled Chakushin ari. The film will open wide everywhere on January 4th, 2008.
Stars: Ed Burns and Shannyn Sossamon
Several people start receiving voice-mails from their future selves -- messages which include the date, time, and some of the details of their deaths. Beth Raymond is traumatized when she witnesses the gruesome deaths of two friends just days apart. Even more disturbing, she knows that both of them had received chilling cell phone messages--actual recordings of their own horrifying last moments. Impossibly, the calls were received days before they died, but each death occurred precisely when and how the messages foretold.

THE EYE
The remake of the Hong Kong film "Jian Gui", a woman who receives an eye transplant that allows her to see into the supernatural world
Sydney Wells is an accomplished concert violinist who has been blind since a childhood tragedy. Sydney undergoes a double corneal transplant, and her sight is restored. But Sydney's happiness is short-lived as unexplainable shadowy and frightening images start to haunt her. Are they a passing aftermath of her surgery, Sydney's mind adjusting to sight, a product of her imagination, or something horrifyingly real? As Sydney's family and friends begin to doubt her sanity, Sydney is soon convinced that her anonymous eye donor has somehow opened the door to a terrifying world only she can now see.

RIGHTEOUS KILL
Two career police detectives (Al Pacino, Robert De Niro) search for a vigilante killer on the gritty streets of New York City. Carla Gugino co-stars as a crime-scene investigator that has romantic ties to De Niro.
After 30 years as partners in the pressure cooker environment of the NYPD, highly decorated Detectives David Fisk and Thomas Cowan should be ready for retirement, but aren't. Before they can hang up their badges, they are called in to investigate the murder of a notorious pimp, which appears to have ties to a case they solved years before. Like the original murder, the victim is a suspected criminal whose body is found accompanied by a four-line poem justifying the killing. When additional crimes take place, it becomes clear the detectives are looking for a serial killer, one who targets criminals that have fallen through the cracks of the judicial system. His mission is to do what the cops can't do on their own--take the culprits off the streets for good. The similarities between the recent killings and their earlier case raise a nagging question: Did they put the wrong man behind bars? THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA : PRINCE CASPIAN
"Prince Caspian" finds the Pevensie siblings pulled back into the land of Narnia, where a thousand years have passed since they left. The children are once again enlisted to join the colorful creatures of Narnia in combating an evil villain who prevents the rightful Prince from ruling the land.
With the help of a heroic mouse called Reepicheep, and the exiled heir to the throne, Prince Caspian, they set out to overthrow the King, once again with Aslan's help.

THE MUMMY 3
In the Far East, trouble-seeking father-and-son duo Rick (Fraser) and Alex O'Connell (Ford) unearth the mummy of the first Emperor of Qin (Li) -- a shape-shifting entity who was cursed by a wizard (Yeoh) centuries ago. And this time, the O’Connells must stop a mummy awoken from a 2,000-year-old curse who threatens to plunge the world into his merciless, unending service.
Doomed by a double-crossing sorceress (Michelle Yeoh) to spend eternity in suspended animation, China's ruthless Dragon Emperor and his 10,000 warriors have laid forgotten for eons, entombed in clay as a vast, silent terra cotta army. But when dashing adventurer Alex O'Connell is tricked into awakening the ruler from eternal slumber, the reckless young archaeologist must seek the help of the only people who know more than he does about taking down the undead: his parents.
As the monarch roars back to life, our heroes find his quest for world domination has only intensified over the millennia. Striding the Far East with unimaginable supernatural powers, the Emperor Mummy will rouse his legion as an unstoppable, otherworldly force...unless the O’Connells can stop him first.

MONGOL
The story recounts the early life of Genghis Khan who was a slave before going on to conquer half the world including Russia in 1206. This historical biopic looks at the life of a young Genghis Khan and how he went from being a slave to conquering half of the world in 1206

Aronson, this tells the incredible true story of Barbara Daly, who married above her class to Brooks Baekeland (Moore), the dashing heir to the Bakelite plastics fortune. MAD MONEY

Bridget Cardigan (Diane Keaton) is shocked to learn that she is on the verge of losing her home and comfortable upper middle class lifestyle when her husband Don (Ted Danson) is downsized from his job. Armed only with a decades old English degree and years as a dedicated mother and corporate wife, Bridget is forced into the unfamiliar labor market with no job skills. Finally, she accepts the only position she can find—janitor at the Federal Reserve Bank.
The one-time suburban mom soon discovers she has more in common with her new co-workers than she thought. Bridget forges an unexpected bond with Nina (Queen Latifah), a hard-working single mom with two kids to raise, and Jackie (Katie Holmes), an exuberant free spirit with nothing to lose. Caught up in a system that underestimates their talents and keeps their dreams just out of reach, Bridget, Nina and Jackie set out to even the score.
After a lifetime of playing by the rules, the three devise a plan to smuggle soon-to-be destroyed currency out of the supposedly airtight Reserve. As the unlikely crime syndicate amasses piles of cash, it looks like they have pulled off the perfect crime—until a minor misstep alerts the authorities. With more money than they know what to do with, the women are pushed to the limits of their ingenuity to stay one step ahead of the law!

IMPORTANCE OF BLOG

Three or four years ago, there was no such thing as a “blog;” but today blogs have become very influential components of the Internet, and their importance is growing exponentially. The word “blog” is a shortened form of “web log,” and it stands for a web site that keeps a log (much like a diary) of people’s thoughts, their actions, and their reactions to other people’s thoughts and actions. Today, there are millions of blogs on the Internet.

Blogs are great marketing, monitoring, conversing and learning tools that should be taken advantage of by individuals and businesses everywhere.
Blogs also can be used as tools for creating on-line communities of people interested in the same subjects – or in each other.

During the past four years, some blogs have become “news sources,” publishing stories like newspapers, radio stations and TV stations. Some of these blogs are very partisan, publishing highly “slanted” stories as if they were genuine news. People working for these blogs began to call themselves “reporters,” and some were even allowed into the White House Newsroom with nationally known reporters from the major networks.

Prior to blogs, content basically flowed one way in relation to the individual. Content was created and distributed by the few and then funneled down to the individual for consumption. While methods existed for individuals to distribute content, those methods were primarily direct distribution through email, letters, telephone or group distribution with a newsgroup or bulletin board.

The consumer is now a distributor (see Figure B). Blogs enable individuals to compete and participate in content creation and distribution and that participation is having a profound effect.
Pyramid saimira theatre limited, one of the world’s largest entertainment company understands the importance of blog. We post articles in 8 different languages – English, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, Kannada, Gujarati and Marathi.

Articles realed to Entertainmet are posted to give you an ariel view of the entertinmet world. We invite you to post comments and give us feed back.We thank you for your encouragement and support.

Oscar Peterson - No More

Oscar Peterson, whose early talent, speedy fingers and musical genius made him one of the
world's best-known jazz pianists, has died. He was 82.
Born in a limestone house on Montreal's Delisle Street on August 15, 1925, he was the fourth of five children to his parents, Daniel and Kathleen. During an illustrious career spanning seven decades, Peterson played with some of the biggest names in jazz, including Ella Fitzgerald, Count Basie and Dizzy Gillespie. He became a teen sensation in his native Canada, playing in dance bands and recording in the late 1930s and early 1940s. But he got his real break as a surprise guest at Carnegie Hall in 1949, after which he began touring the United States and Europe. He is also remembered for touring in a trio with Ray Brown on bass and Herb Ellis on guitar in the 1950s.
He quickly made a name for himself as a jazz virtuoso, often compared to piano great Art Tatum, his childhood idol, for his speed and technical skill.

Wanting to express the genuine love and pride he felt for his native country, Oscar Peterson with Phil Nimmons composed and recorded the Canadiana Suite in 1964. Nominated for a Grammy Award as best jazz composition in 1965, it remains one of Oscar Peterson's best-known compositions and contains his personal favourite, Wheatland.
The American jazz pianist Billy Taylor called Peterson one of the finest jazz pianists of his time. "He set the pace for just about everybody that followed him."
In 2001 he was awarded the Skynet Internet Person of the Year Award.
