53rd Annual Filmfare Awards

The day - Filmfare awards - is much awaited by fans where they would be able to watch their favourite stars being felicitated by the biggest award that the industry possesses. The red carpet was laid at Yashraj Studios, Mumbai, on February 23, 2008, where all stars and other bigwigs from Bollywood turned up. The crowd awaited impatiently to get a glimpse of its favourites.The awards show put a smile on everybody's face as comedian Rajpal Yadav had a great entry followed by melody queen Shreya Ghoshal.Mediapersons and fans couldn't afford to even blink as they might miss the big stars of the night.Fardeen walked hand-in-hand with wife Natasha; so did Hrithik, with his wife Suzzane Roshan. This time round Hrithik tended to be media-friendly though John Abraham didn't seem so. John headed straight for the function with none other than Bipasha Basu.Deepika Padukone was the centre of attention. The fans waited restlessly for dashing Ranbir Kapoor. Priyanka looked gorgeous as ever. Beating speculation, Deepika and Ranbir didn't arrive hand-in-hand.All the female actors appeared in black evening gowns but Deepika was admired the most. Kangana Ranaut bucked the trend by choosing to wear white.As for awards, everybody had 'Taare Zameen Par' or'Chak De India' on their minds for best film, and Kareena was everybody's choice for the best actress award.It seemed Shah Rukh Khan and Darsheel Safary, the child actor, had close competition for the best actor award.
