Cooking with Stella is a film written by siblings Deepa Mehta and Dilip Mehta. The film is a light comedy about a Canadian diplomat (played by Lisa Ray) and her husband (Don McKellar) living in New Delhi, and their cook, Stella (Seema Biswas). It also stars Shriya Saran. Despite the film being a comedy, writer-director Dilip Mehta describes it as being "very issue-driven... an iron fist in a velvet glove."

Plot Story
Stella Elizabeth Matthews has been a cook in the Canadian High Commission in New Delhi for 30 years. She is brilliant as a cook, and brilliant at creatively padding her salary - with a few pilfered items, some minor overcharging, and a special phone-order duty free business. A newly posted Canadian diplomatic couple Michael and Maya arrive with their baby and, after an initial jolt when she learns that Michael will be staying home as "diplomatic housewife" while Maya goes off to work, everything goes swimmingly for Stella. Michael was a chef in Ottawa and he is longing to learn authentic Indian cooking. Stella agrees to be his "cooking guru". But Stella's cozy domestic set-up implodes when Tannu, an honest nanny, joins the household, and threatens to expose Stella's deceptions. Eventually Stella wins Tannu's full cooperation (and then some!). This unlikely partnership embarks on a much grander, riskier scam, which seems to bring disaster. An unexpected kind of justice is found, but not until the guru-student relationship between Stella and Michael has been sorely tested. Michael has learned many important lessons from his teacher ...including glorious traditional South Indian cooking. And Stella? Well.... let's just say dreams sometimes come true in unexpected ways.

Wild Child is a teen comedy film starring Emma Roberts, Alex Pettyfer and Natasha Richardson. It was Richardson's final film role before her sudden death in March 2009.

Story
The film starts with Poppy Moore and her friends trashing all her dad's girlfriend's stuff in a wild prank. When her father angrily arrives, he tells her he is sending her to boarding school in England.

Arriving at the school, called Abbey Mount, Poppy meets the headmistress Mrs. Kingsley, head girl Harriet, and her 'buddy' Kate. She is miserable in her new life, as she does not fit in and has no friends.
When she reveals that her mother had died several years ago, her roommates decide to help her get expelled. Together, they carry out several pranks which gradually brings them closer together. When none of their plans work they decide to seduce the headmistress's son Freddie, who is strictly forbidden to fraternize with any of the girls. After dancing with Freddie at the school dance, Poppy trips and hits her head, which leads Freddie to take the concussed girl outside for air, where he asks her out on a date.

The next day, Poppy discovers her talent for lacrosse and whips the school's team into shape, getting them into the finals. On the date Poppy finds herself falling for Freddie. They kiss before Poppy returns to school, where she finds her roommates reading an email supposedly sent by Poppy stating that she thought all of her new friends were losers. She then finds that Freddie has been given a similar email and is thereafter ignored by her friends. Poppy, with no one else to turn to, sneaks down to the cook's room and rings Ruby, who accidentally reveals how much she dislikes Poppy. Feeling even more alone, Poppy starts playing with her lighter, accidentally setting a curtain alight. Hearing footsteps, she quickly puts out the fire and runs off. A few minutes later, she looks out her window to see a fire, and wakes the school. When they find that Drippy is missing, Poppy runs into the burning school to rescue her. After the fire is put out, Freddie finds her lighter and gives it back to her, refusing to listen to what happened. Just as she realizes that she no longer wants to leave, Poppy goes to the headmistress and confesses.

While Poppy waits for the Honour Court, who will decide if she should be expelled, Freddie finds her crying and becomes convinced that the fire was an accident. During the hearing, Poppy tells her story while her roommates find out that Poppy didn't send the emails. Going to the court, they stand up for Poppy and Harriet accidentally confesses to restarting the fire after Poppy had put it out. The movie is left off at the lacrosse finals. Poppy's father comes to the game and is shocked by Poppy's dramatic change of appearance and how much she looks like her mother. Abbey Mount wins the Lacrosse finals and the film ends with Poppy and her friends in Malibu as she ignores Ruby's phone calls.

Story
The story begins in 1957 in the star-filled skies above California's Mojave Desert. It is a special night for noted astronomer Ted Lewis, who is preparing a special dinner for his beautiful, adoring wife Lana to celebrate their wedding anniversary. In another part of town, Tammy, a waitress at small local diner with big plans for the future, looks out her window and is excited to see a shooting star, which she takes as a good sign for her dreams. But, what Dr. Lewis and Tammy assume is a shooting star, is really an alien spaceship. The fiery ball hurtles toward earth and crash-lands on a butte in the desert. The only witnesses are teens Dick and Penny who are necking in a nearby lover's lane.

A tall, metallic alien named Urp emerges from the craft unharmed, alarmed to discover that the monstrous Ghota, who was also on board, has escaped. The menacing one-eyed creature's unquenchable appetite could mean the end of civilization as we know it. Urp is the only one who knows how to stop the hideous extra-terrestrial, but to do so he has to take over the body of Dr. Lewis and enlist the aid of Tammy, the only human in town willing to believe and trust in his mission. The local police - including Chief Dawson and Officer Vern - are confirmed skeptics and offer little help. Together, Urp and Tammy must hunt down the Ghota and neutralize it before it consumes all the local inhabitants and uses the human fuel to multiply and conquer the world.

Indian Monks Journey 'Mystic India’

Mystic India is a IMAX format film about India's culture, people, and traditions. It is told through the 12,000 km barefoot journey throughout 18th century India undertaken by the Hindu adolescent ascetic Nilkanth, also known later in life as Bhagwan Swaminarayan by his followers. The film was directed by Keith Melton and financed and produced by BAPS. The film is in Hindi and has been dubbed into English, French and Spanish.

Synopsis
On June 29, 1792, Neelkanth begins his journey of awakening. Having resolved to embrace the challenges of nature, he leaves his home in the city of Ayodhya. Neelkanth walks alone into the cold stormy night, wearing nothing over his shoulders or under his feet, carrying nothing - no maps, no money, no food - except inner courage, confidence and a silent spiritual strength. At the Saryu River, he enters the cold, raging current. Neelkanth is swept away, leaving behind all that was familiar.

Neelkanth's footprints begin to map the length and breadth of India - its dense jungles, fertile plains, majestic mountains, mighty rivers, and peaceful coastlines. Flourishing for more than 8,000 years, this land has been home to an ancient and highly advanced civilization. Neelkanth's walk would last for 7 years, 12,000 kilometers, covering every corner of India.

On the banks of the Ganges, Neelkanth takes part in the Harki Pedhi Arti (The Ceremony of Lamps) at Haridwar. For thousands of years, Hindus have gathered here to pay their respects to India's most sacred river. A priest notices Neelkanth in the distance and desires to meet him. Neelkanth poses a riddle to the priest, "Iron sinks, but wood floats. What should iron do to keep from sinking?" No matter how long it takes, the priest promises himself to find the answer.

Continuing his way north, Neelkanth climbs his way to the mountain village of Sripur, famous for its grand shrine, Kamleshwar Muth. The mahant (chief priest) notices Neelkanth resting under a nearby tree. He warns Neelkanth of the man-eating lion terrorizing the village and invites Neelkanth to stay in the Muth. Neelkanth asks, "Can your doors stop death?" As night falls, the doors of every home are tightly fastened.

It is well past midnight and a chilling roar shatters the eerie silence. A lion charges through the grass spotting Neelkanth. They meet face to face. The Mahant, fearful for the young child, looks out his window and sees a strange and unbelievable sight; the ferocious lion is humbly lying by the feet of Neelkanth. The next morning, as Neelkanth leaves, the grateful faces of villagers surround him.

Hosting a diversity of faces, India is home to a colorful mixture of people. Neelkanth introduces us to the faces of India. Home to 18 different languages and 850 dialects, India is the envy of the world; no other country, even continent, has so many different people living and working together.

Continuing into the Himalayas, Neelkanth makes his way to Badrinath Temple. Standing at 11,300 feet, Badrinath is one of India's most revered temples. For six months of the year, the temple closes during the deadly cold winter. A procession begins its journey down from the mountains to warmer temperatures and safety. A priest meets Neelkanth on the steps of the temple and invites Neelkanth to join him, but Neelkanth says, "I am not going down, I am going up…to Lake Mansarovar." The priest cannot believe what he has just heard. He says "At this time of year…you'll face blizzards and avalanches. You'll never survive." Neelkanth smiles and walks down the steps, leaving the priest to wonder why such a young child would risk his life in the mountains.

For six months, in the freezing temperatures with no shelter, Neelkanth treks through the Himalayas, home to 92 of the 94 tallest peaks in the world. Crossing a pass at 18,000 feet, Neelkanth reaches the sacred peak of Mt. Kailash, and the holy shores of Mansarovar, the source of four of India's mighty rivers - Indus, Brahmaputra, Karnali and Sutlej. With no guide or maps, Neelkanth negotiates through the deepest gorge in the world cut by the Kali Gandki between Dhaulagiri and Nilgiri in the Annapurna Mountain range. Eventually, he reaches Muktinath at 12,500 feet, where an ancient temple of Lord Vishnu gloriously stands to this day, encircled by 108 waterspouts. Here he undertakes a journey without motion, a journey within. Performing severe austerities in a rare yogic posture, months turn to seasons, seasons turn to years, and Neelkanth grows older and wiser.

Descending the mountains, it has been 5 years since Neelkanth has left his home. From the peaceful villages to the mountain peaks, Neelkanth leads us through a land ornamented with grand monuments, palaces, and relics of stone. We explore Indian architecture and its paradise of styles, forms and shapes.

Neelkanth's route leads him through the rainforests of Assam, the jungles of Sunderbans and to the shores of Jagannath Puri. The annual Rath Yatra (Festival of Chariots) is celebrated here. Every year, for thousands of years, millions of pilgrims flock here to pull the chariot of Lord Jagannath. Raja Mukund Dev, King of Jagannath Puri, invites Neelkanth to celebrate Rath Yatra.

A conch shell blows and the boisterous clanging of plates deafens us. Directly ahead, we see Neelkanth sitting on a colossal chariot and the king standing by his side. Hundreds are pulling the chariot with four massive ropes. Pilgrims are cheering, singing, dancing, and throwing vermillion into the air. The huge wheels of the chariot fill our vision. We float above and let the Rath pass beneath to reveal an awesome sight of thousands. A sea of colors shines below.

This festival is just one of many festivals of India. They are expressions of joy for many occasions - be it the birth of a child, the changing of the seasons, or the New Year. A wide spectrum of colors, costumes and customs are portrayed in the festivals of India. Viewers are immersed in some of the greatest festivals of India; from the lights of Diwali to the colors of Holi.

Following the eastern coastline, Neelkanth arrives in South India at the ancient Rameshwaram Temple. Built in the 12th century, the Rameshwaram temple has 1,212 pillars and India's longest stone corridor stretching 1.2 kilometers. This temple is one of the most important pilgrimage places in all of India. At each of the 22 wells, people bathe as a purification rite. Standing by one of these wells, Neelkanth is pleased to find the priest he met in Haridwar five years back. The priest has found the answer to Neelkanth's riddle, "If iron attaches itself to wood, iron too can float. We are the iron ring. Enlightened persons like you are the wood." Pleased with the priest's response, Neelkanth explains that the association of an enlightened person keeps our weaknesses from drowning us in the ocean of life.

For the next two years, Neelkanth travels from the temple towns of South India, through the backwaters of Kerala and ends his journey in the village Loj in Gujarat. In the villages of India, where to this day 80% of all Indians live, it is a tradition to welcome visitors like gods.
A giant banyan tree hangs over Loj. Under this tree, villagers often gather for discussions.

Neelkanth learns of a great saint and teacher Ramanand Swami in one of these gatherings. Delighted to hear such news, Neelkanth waits for him in his ashram. While at the ashram Neelkanth, who conquered the challenges of nature, sweeps the floors. Having mastered all the disciplines of yoga by the age of 14, Neelkanth shares his knowledge with others.

Neelkanth and Ramanand Swami meet on a riverbank. Ramanandji says, "Now that you have arrived, lead the people because you are the true master." But Neelkanth prefers the silence of the mountains. Ramanand Swami encourages Neelkanth and says, "Awakening was your aim and shall continue to be so. Your footprints in the sands of time will light up the path for seekers of courage, confidence, love, truth, and tolerance."

Neelkanth grows older to become one of the greatest spiritual leaders of India. His lessons continue to inspire millions. His vision, work, and wisdom echoes the essence of Indian culture - its unity in diversity. This is the greatest gift India can offer the world.

Bollywood thriller film "8 X 10 Tasveer"

8 X 10 Tasveer is a Bollywood film thriller released April 3, 2009, and starring Akshay Kumar and Ayesha Takia. It is directed by Nagesh Kukunoor, and produced by Percept Picture Company. The film features Sharmila Tagore, Javed Jaffrey, Anant Mahadevan, Girish Karnad, Benjamin Gilani, Rushad Rana, Andrea Tully, and Pia Shah in supporting roles. As of March 2008, the cast and crew was shooting in Calgary, Canada. It was previously called Tasveer, but changed due to the director's insistence that the title was jinxed. The film's music is composed by Salim-Sulaiman with a title track by Bohemia.

Basic Story
After a flashback to a Jai Puri as a child, "?in shock at the edge of a cliff as his parents pull him away, the film jumps to the present day, finding Jai now a forest ranger in the woods near Alberta, Canada. Jai lives in a cabin with his girlfriend Sheila, but has been estranged from his parents, Jatin and Savitri Puri. Jatin is the CEO of a privately held Canadian oil company, Canoil. That oil exploration causes environmental damage is a great source of tension between father and son.

Jai has a supernatural or mutant gift: He is able to enter a photograph and vividly experience the events preceding the time of the photograph. Jai is unable to understand or explain this gift, except to recall that it started when he was very young. Jai tries to use this gift to help people (e.g. find people lost in the woods) despite the risks to his own body. Jai can remain in photographs only for a minute, and experiences life-threatening, stroke-like effects afterward.

Jai's father drowns in a boating accident under mysterious circumstances. Jatin was aboard his own boat, the Golmaal, and was surrounded by his wife; his brother, Sunder; longtime friend and lawyer Anil; and Adit, Jatin's surrogate son. Eccentric former cop Hapibulla "Happi" Pasha, who suffers from OCD, and whom Jatin had helped emigrate to Canada and start a life there, believes Jatin may have been murdered, and that everyone on the boat at that time may have had motive. The only clue is an 8x10 photograph of the four men, which Savitri shot a few moments before Jatin fell off the boat and had a hypothermia-induced heart attack.

Jai repeatedly uses his gift to enter the photo and experience the incident through the eyes of the four subjects in it. After each entry, Jai picks up various clues from the viewpoint of the subject. Happi follows up on these clues and tries to string together a theory. But Jai his body gradually weakening from the stress of entering the photograph. As well, Sunder is found hanged, an apparent suicide, and a mysterious party in a black SUV tries to kill Jai and Sheila. Later, someone makes an attempt on Savitri's life. Happi enlists the help of a nurse, Sally, whom he had left at the altar some unspecified time ago, who though resentful of Happi helps administer medical aide to Jai in order to help him find the killer.

After the knife attack on Savitri, Jai enters the photo one last time, at great risk to his weakening body, to find the final set of clues, and is set upon by his now-grown twin, Jeet — who had been presumed dead but had survived the fall to live a hellish existence — and the unfaithful Sheila. During a tussle, Happi arrives at Jai's cabin and tries to help, but Sheila kills him with an axe. Jeet and Sheila dump Happi's body, as well as that of their betrayed confederate, Adit, into the sea, and attempt to do the same with Jai. Jai ingeniously escapes, and attempts to reconcile with his long-lost brother. Touched, Jeet kills Sheila as she fires on Jai, but her shot kills Jeet. Sometime later, Jai moves in with his mother and they put up pictures of the missing son.

"Zift" is a genre mixture of neo-noir and sots-art. The story unfolds in one night. The main character, Moth is freed on parole after spending time in prison on wrongful conviction of murder. He was thrown in jail shortly before the Bulgarian communist coup of 1944, and now finds himself in a new and alien world – the totalitarian Sofia of the 60s.

All hell breaks loose as soon as he walks out of jail. Moth tricks the bloodhounds of the communist state. His first night of freedom the main character spends in a breathtaking chase with time, trying to avoid fate, as he gets closer and closer to his ultimate demise.
His frantic flight draws the map of a diabolical totalitarian city – decaying neighborhoods and gloomy streets, the bathhouse, the city canal, the hospital, the cathedral, the pompous works of communist architecture centered around the Mausoleum, smoky joints, bars, and finally -- the graveyard.In the pursuit of truth, Moth runs into a bizarre parade of characters – agents, medics, barflies, outcasts, gravediggers and other species of the asphalt jungle. The action thickens through avalanching variety of twists and turns, sudden revelations, flashbacks, lies laid bare, hallucinations, and sensual encounters with the former love. Finally, the story ends inside the gravediggers’ trailer where the secrets are revealed.

Story

Tian, a boy who aspires to grow up to be like his father, Lord Sihadecho, a gallant and loyal warrior. The treacherous and power-craving Lord Rajasena plots to seize total control of the country. He sends out vicious assassins to murder Lord Sihadecho's family and his loyal soldiers. The only survivor from this massacre is Tian, who manages to escape with deep vengeance in his heart.

Tian is then captured and almost killed by slave traders before being saved by Chernang, leader of the renowned “Garuda's Wing” guerilla group, who takes Tian in as his adoptive son and raises him up as a bandit. Tian grows up excelling in all kinds of martial arts and war strategies including man-to-man fighting, boxing, incantation, and skills of such war weapons as sword, saber, club, and explosive.

With all forms of martial arts instilled, Tian eagers to vanquish the vengeance in his heart by killing Lord Rajasena with his own hands. But he must first get pass Rajasena's highly-skilled and vicious killers.The battle leads to the origin of the scar of vengeance that comes at a price of one's blood, flesh and soul. Only unwavering faith can save Tian’s life.

US Documentary film “Nursery University"

"Nursery University" is a documentary film on Nursery education in United States, written and directed by Marc H. Simon.

For anyone unfamiliar with the otherworldly child-rearing policies of Manhattan, "Nursery University" may seem like science-fiction: Strange, possessed beings stumble sleepless through a landscape of plenty, willing to sell their kidneys to get their kid into the proper pre-school. All this cutthroat competition is (sur)real life, though, and "Nursery University" plays it sympathetically, like a "Spellbound" in training pants. Pic has at least one market sewed up: Upper East Side parents who think it might give them an edge in the admissions process.

And, it might. Helmer Marc H Simon gets inside a self-sustaining system based on fear and prestige, where merely receiving an application for an acceptable nursery school is cause for major celebration.

What's acceptable, of course, is another issue but everyone involved -- from very sympathetic educator/administrators like the Mandell School's Gabriella Rowe, to the parents themselves -- recognize what they're involved with is slightly insane.

The competition is rabid, the behavior unspeakable and the entire philosophy is ultimately depressing: The motivation is the theory that getting a child into the "right" preschool will give him an edge entering the right kindergarten, the right grade school, middle school, high school and Ivy League college. That the Ivy League is the objective is never even a question.

If a child gets a round peg in a round hole during a preschool "interview," it's the equivalent of a 1600 on the SATs. Insanity doesn't begin to describe it.

Simon might have really skewered all his characters, but he doesn't -- they do enough of it themselves, especially the better-off couples who, as one wife admits, are used to getting what they want. They find it vaguely infuriating that they can't quite finesse the "system."
Simon might have asked a few more questions about what the New York pre-school rat race says about our culture as a whole: The idea that such a relatively infinitesimal flutter in the storyline of someone's life is worth all this effort just shows how little faith these people have that what they live in is a meritocracy. It recognizes that, quite possibly, who you took nap-time with is going to be far more important than all the work you'll ever do. That the quality of the schools is never mentioned is a very eloquent hole in the middle of Simon's story.

The kids, blissfully ignorant of the furor they've created, are adorable, the parents less so -- desperate, ambitious people are rarely all that charming, although these folks are rescued somewhat by the fact they're doing it all for someone else. How can you live with yourself, more than one subjects asks, not having done everything you could do to make your child's life better than your own?

Of course, the parents own self-image is involved, too, as is their station in life. For the less well off, a chi-chi preschool is seen to signify a step up in class; for the upper class, it means the status quo will be preserved.

It's all very troubling. But it's handled with such good humor and humanity by Simon that you start to forget that what you're so involved with is the question of where some very short people, who can barely dress themselves, are going to be finger-painting for the next eight months.

Brief Story

He then has to chase after the gang who have stolen his heart, but at the same time, shocking himself with regular jolts of electricity to keep himself alive.

Serbian film St. George Shoots the Dragon

St. George Shoots the Dragon is an upcoming Serbian WW1 war drama currently in the final stages of post-production with the movie premiere slated for March 11, 2009. The movie's director is Srđan Dragojević and the screenplay writer is Dušan Kovačević.

With a budget of around €5 million, once released it will be one of the most expensive Serbian movies to date. Most of the funds for the movie have been donated by the governments of Serbia and Republika Srpska who have deemed this movie to be of national importance.

Battle Story
The movie starts with a battle against the Turks in the 1st Balkan war in 1912 and ends with the outbreak of WW1 in 1914 and the crucial Battle of Cer, the first allied victory in WW1. It is largely set in and around a small village by the Sava river at Serbia's border with Austria-Hungary.

The village is divided between able-bodied men that are potential army recruits and the many invalid veterans from the previous Balkan wars, and there is bitter animosity between the two groups which don't intermingle much with each other even though they live in the same village.

The central theme of the movie is a love triangle between the village gendarme Đorđe, his wife Katarina and the young war cripple Gavrilo who once had a love affair with Katarina before he went to war and lost his arm in battle, and with the arm partly also his lust for life. Even though Katarina in the meantime married Đorđe, she still has affection for Gavrilo which is a source of friction between them two.

On the onset of WW1, all able-bodied men in the village are recruited for combat. Left in the village are only women, children and invalids from previous Balkan wars.

Rumours start circulating that the invalids in the village are trying to take advantage of the situation by making their moves on the women in the village, the wives and sisters of the recruited men.

These rumours reach the villagers at the front and in order to prevent mutiny the army staff decides to recruit the invalids as well and send them to the front line.

Story
The story starts with Arundhati (Anushka)’s arrival to her ancestors palace located in the outskirts of Gadwal province. Engaged to her beloved Rahul (Deepak), she is filled with joy about her impending marriage.
Arundhati’s grandfather, Bhupathi Raja (Kaikala Satyanarayana) and Chandramma (Manorama), their loyal maid look upon her as the heiress in the lineage next to Jejamma (Anushka), the princess of Gadwal province three generations back.

Jejemma (named after the famous Goddess in that area) (Anushka) belongs to Gadwal samsthanam in 1920’s. She is known for her bravery in saving the Samstanam by killing Pasupathi (Sonu Sood) an evildoer who creates ruckus in that place. But the spirit of Pasupathi haunts that place.

Another girl is born in the same lineage after 3 generations and she is named as Arundhati. The spirit of Pasupati is after Arundhati to take the revenge.

Present, The couple on their way to meet Arundhathi with her wedding cards meets with an accident near the haveli (mansion). The lady goes missing and the man possessed by evil spirits breaks open the Samadhi. A Fakeer Anwar (Shayaji Shinde) who dwells around the place senses bad omen and summons Arundhathi to vacate the place for her own safety.

The Good against Evil fight begins as Pashupathi mistakes Arundhathi for Jejamma and seeks revenge on her.

How the young Arundhati fights back the evil spirit and reigns over the evil doer in the present unveils on screen in a twisty, edge-of-the-seat narration filled with spellbinding visualization and astounding graphics.

Performance
This is actress Anushka’s first performance oriented film, and she handled simply amazing. There are many shots in the film where the scenes from the present time will dissolve into to flashback and vice versa. These scenes are done on Anushka are crucial in the film. She has to show the variations between the old Arundhati and new Arundhati. Sonu Sood looking deadly in the Aghora role. And he performed well. The way he pronounces ‘ninnu vadalaa … vasta .. vasta’ is extremely good. Sayaji Shinde got a beautiful role ‘Talla Sayibu’ in this film. He is completely believable in that role. Manorama is very good. Deepak is nice. Satyanarayana and others are good. All other artists are appropriately cast in their roles.

Analysis
First half of the film is excellent and the second half is good. The plus points of the film are performances, screenplay, technical values and dignity. Arundhati is a film which you can proudly show it as a Telugu film to all your non-Telugu friends. Arundhati is a film that must be watched in a good theater.

No, doubt this is a ‘Graphical Tech-ni-thriller in Tollywood. The ‘Arundhathi’ reserved their golden berth in Tollywood history too.

Basic Plot Line
The fourth installment of the Terminator series follows an adult John Connor (played by Christian Bale) as he attempts to organize a human resistance force which could prove to be humankind's last true hope for survival in the war against their intelligent robot overlords. Opening in the year 2018, Terminator: Salvation finds John Connor's certainty about the future shaken by the sudden appearance of a mysterious stranger named Marcus Wright (Sam Worthington), whose last memory was sitting on death row and awaiting execution.

Unable to determine whether Marcus was sent from the future or rescued from the past, Connor begins to wonder whether there is still any hope left for the human race as the robots grow more powerful and aggressive than ever before. It appears that Skynet is preparing a devastating final attack designed to eliminate the human resistance forces once and for all, leaving Connor and Marcus with no choice but to strike back at the cybernetic heart of Skynet's operations.

Once there, the two battle-scarred soldiers discover a devastating secret regarding the potential annihilation of all mankind. Anton Yelchin fills Michael Biehn's shoes as a young Kyle Reese in what is planned to be a new Terminator trilogy from director McG (Charlie's Angels).

Release
The film will be released in North America on May 22, 2009, and it could be rated PG-13 by the Motion Picture Association of America, unlike the previous R-rated films. The producers cited the desire to broaden the series to a new audience and the modern leniency of violence in PG-13 films, but they stated they would not force the rating. McG explained, "We have entertained the idea of a PG-13 rating largely because Batman Begins, in my opinion, was made compromise-free. So we'll see. The movie comes first and it will be protected at all times." He also added that studio executives Jeff Robinov and Jeff Blake gave their "blessing to make the picture and if it's a rated-R picture, it's a rated-R picture and that's that".

In addition to the novelization by Alan Dean Foster, there will also be a prequel novel entitled From the Ashes by Timothy Zahn and two spin-offs. The first spin-off will be published in September 2008. IDW Publishing will release a four-issue prequel comic, as well as an adaptation. Due in January 2009, it follows Connor rallying together the resistance in 2017, as well as examining normal people overcoming their intolerances to defeat Skynet. Playmates Toys, Sideshow Collectibles, and DC Unlimited will produce merchandise. A roller coaster will open at Six Flags Magic Mountain.
A video game of the same name will coincide with the release of the film. The game will be a third-person shooter.

Story:
Former government operative Bryan Mills begins the longest 96-hours of his life--and the hunt for the fearsome organization that has taken his daughter Kim. Mills had only recently given up his government career as what he calls a “preventer” to be near Kim, who lives with Bryan’s ex-wife Lenore and her new husband. To make ends meet, Bryan joins some former colleagues for special security details (like guarding a pop diva), but most of his time and energy are spent re-connecting with Kim.

Bryan’s familial goal is nearly derailed when Kim requests his permission to spend time in Paris with a friend. All too aware of the dangers that could lie ahead for Kim in a foreign land, Bryan says no, but Kim’s disappointment leads him to very reluctantly relent. Bryan’s worst fears are realized when Kim and her friend Amanda are suddenly abducted--in broad daylight--from the Paris apartment at which they’ve just arrived.

Moments before Kim is dragged away by the as yet unseen and unknown assailants, she manages to phone Bryan, who begins to expertly piece together clues that will take him to the darkness of Paris’s underworld, and to the City of Light’s plushest mansions. He will face nightmares worse than anything he experienced in black ops--and let nothing and no one stop him from saving his daughter.

Rahman won Golden Globe award

Music maestro A R Rahman, who became the first Indian to win the prestigious Golden Globe Award, dedicated it to the "billion people of India", as British director Danny Boyle's Mumbai-based saga 'Slumdog Millionaire', bagged four prizes at the ceremony in New York on Jan 12, 2009.

A Mumbai underdog's rags-to-riches story,'Slumdog Millionaire', swept all the four categories it was nominated for, winning the best director award for Boyle, the best music score for Rahman, best screenplay for Simon Beaufoy and also in the category of best drama.

Rahman, who won the coveted prize for his music score 'Jai Ho' in the film, thanked the director and his fellow musicians in Mumbai and Chennai, besides the "billion people from India".

“Unbelievable..! I thought I would not win, so anyways thanks to the almighty God for bringing me here... Danny Boyle, Fox pictures, all my musicians in Chennai, Mumbai,.. and the billion people from India,” he said while accepting the award.

Director Danny Boyle bagged the best director award, while Simon Beaufoy won the best screenplay award for the film that starred Bollywood actors Anil Kapoor, Irrfan Khan and British Indian Dev Patel.

Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan, who was at the ceremony to represent India, introduced the film to the foreign audience with 'Slumdog' actress Frieda Pinto.

It is also the first Golden Globe for 52-year-old Boyle, who is expected to be among the favourites at next month's Oscars following the phenomenal success of the film at award circuits .

Billu Barber is an upcoming Bollywood film starring Irrfan Khan and Lara Dutta in the lead roles, and Shahrukh Khan for the first time in a supporting role. the film also features Om Puri, Rajpal Yadav and Asrani in supporting roles with guest appearances by actresses Kareena Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Priyanka Chopra. The film, which is a remake of the hugely successful Malayalam film Kadha Parayumbol, has already been remade in Tamil as Kuselan starring Pasupathy and Rajinikanth but met a poor box office reception. The film is scheduled to release on February 13, 2009.
Story
The story is set in today's day and age. Billu plays a village barber. His business is running low because he has not been able to upgrade himself according to the changing trends. One fine day, a film unit visits his village to shoot a movie. It stars a superstar, who Billu claims to have been friends with.
All at once, Billu's status in the village changes, and he becomes highly respected. Everyone wants him to meet the superstar through Billu. But Billu is unsure, as he feels he cannot compare to the superstar's status. Besides, he fears that the star may not recognize him.
He makes many attempts to meet the star but fails. After all these hardships, he gives up. The villages believe he lied about the relationship with the star and insult him. His family and children also get upset and badmouth him. In a twist towards the end, the true extent of the friendship Billu and the superstar is revealed.

Making
Director Priyadarshan signed on actors Shahrukh Khan and Lara Dutta to essay pivotal roles in the film. Initially, these roles were offered to Akshay Kumar and Tabu. However, Kumar didn't find the film interesting and opted out of the project whilst Tabu refused the film as she didn't want to work with Irrfan Khan. The director then offered Kumar's and Tabu's role to Shahrukh Khan and Amisha Patel respectively, and both of them agreed to do the film.

Patel later opted out of the film as she felt her character's role was not substantial enough and sources had indicated that Juhi Chawla was signed on for the role. In April 2008, the director announced that he had signed on Lara Dutta to essay the role of the barber's wife.

The cast began filming for the project on April 8, 2008 and according to Shahrukh Khan, "the film is a sweet story of friendship...quite similar to the bond shared between Krishna and Sudama." The film also features Kareena Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra & Deepika Padukone, who are reportedly doing item numbers in the film.

‘Slumdog Millionaire’ wins American critics awards

‘Slumdog Millionaire’, the rags-to-riches story of a Mumbai slum-dweller, has bagged five prestigious prizes including Best Composer award for Indian music maestro A R Rahman at Broadcast Film Critics Association’s 14th annual Critics Choice Awards.

British director Danny Boyle’s Indian drama was a big hit at the award ceremony last night.

It won Best Film, Best Director for Danny Boyle, Best Writer for Simon Beaufoy, Best Young Actor for Dev Patel and Best Composer for A R Rahman, the ‘Los Angeles Times’ reported.

The Broadcast Film Critics Association’s 14th annual Critics Choice Awards (BFCA), which took place at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium last night, is the largest film critics organisation, with more than 200 members in the US and Canada.

Based on the novel ‘Q and A’ by Indian diplomat Vikas Swarup, the film narrates the moving story of Jamaal, a Mumbai slum-dweller and how he goes on to win over $ 20 million in the TV reality show ‘Who Wants to Be A Millionaire?’ to get his love back.

And like its magical underdog winner story, the film which was made on a small budget, has turned out a big winner by virtually dominating the pre-Oscar award scene in the US. It is already being hailed as one of the best hopefuls at the Oscars next month.

The film has already earned a nomination by Writers Guild of America and American Society of Cinematographers.

It was also nominated in the Best Picture category by the Producers Guild of America.

Animated horror 'Coraline'

Coraline is an animated stop-motion horror fantasy film based on Neil Gaiman's novel of the Coraline. Directed by Henry Selick, it is scheduled to be released in theaters on February 6, 2009. It is rated PG for thematic elements, scary images, some language, and suggestive humor.

Story
Coraline is a young bored girl who discovers that bricked-up wall behind a door in her flat leads to another world, with another mother, and another father.

Combining the visionary imaginations of two premier fantasists, director Henry Selick (“The Nightmare Before Christmas”) and author Neil Gaiman (Sandman), this new movie is a wondrous and thrilling, fun and suspenseful adventure that honors and redefines two moviemaking traditions. It is a stop-motion animated feature – and, as the first one to be conceived and photographed in stereoscopic 3-D, unlike anything moviegoers have ever experienced before.

Coraline Jones (voiced by Dakota Fanning) is a girl of 11 who is feisty, curious, and adventurous beyond her years. She and her parents (Teri Hatcher, John Hodgman) have just relocated from Michigan to Oregon. Missing her friends and finding her parents to be distracted by their work, Coraline tries to find some excitement in her new environment. She is befriended – or, as she sees it, annoyed – by a local boy close to her age, Wybie Lovat (Robert Bailey Jr.); and visits her older neighbors, eccentric British actresses Miss Spink and Miss Forcible (Jennifer Saunders and Dawn French) as well as the arguably even more eccentric Russian Mr. Bobinsky (Ian McShane).

After these encounters, Coraline seriously doubts that her new home can provide anything intriguing to her….but it does; she uncovers a secret door in the house. Walking through the door and then venturing through an eerie passageway, she discovers an alternate version of her life and existence. On the surface, this parallel reality is similar to her real life – only much better. The adults, including the solicitous Other Mother (also voiced by Teri Hatcher) seem much more welcoming to her.

Coraline is more the center of attention there – even from the mysterious Cat (Keith David). She begins to think that this Other World might be where she belongs. But when her wondrously off-kilter, fantastical visit turns dangerous and Other Mother schemes to keep her there, Coraline musters all of her resourcefulness, determination, and bravery to get back home – and save her family.

Focus Features will distribute the film. Coraline appeared at Comic-Con 2007. A trailer was shown with the films Beowulf, U2 3D, Hannah Montana & Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert, Twilight, The Nightmare Before Christmas, High School Musical 3, Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa, Bedtime Stories, and Bolt. The film will be released on February 6, 2009.

Coraline Video game
On June 16, 2008, D3Publisher of America announced it will release a video game based on the film. The Coraline game is being developed by Papaya Studio for consoles and by Art Co. for Nintendo DS. The game will also be on the Wii and Playstation 2 consoles. It will be released January 27th, 2009, in close proximity to the film's theatrical release.

Killshot is a forthcoming 2009 thriller film based on the 1989 novel of the same name by Elmore Leonard. The film is directed by John Madden and stars Diane Lane and Thomas Jane as a couple who, despite being in a witness protection program, are discovered by the criminal they outed, portrayed by Mickey Rourke.

Yes, I’m sure. 2008 is a Good, Bad and Ugly year in our most beloved industry, Tollywood.

The year entered with a biggest flop of the year named, ‘Okka Magadu’ with Balakrishna and other massive masala actresses Anushka, Nisha Kothari and Simran in YVS home banner.
Meantime, pure mass masala film 'Krishna' gets victory and that proved once again that it is all about the art of story telling. Massive actor Ravi Teja along with Trisha under the captainship of V V Vinayak gave a hit to Tollywood.

The remake romantic tragedy ‘Vaana’ proves a real tragedy for M.S. Raju.

This much hyped ‘Vaana’ film of M S Raju's directorial debuted venture it got its consolation through the audio chartbusters. But, in the summer took the power heat when Pawan Kalyan and Iliana starred emerged with a big hit in the form of 'Jalsa' breaking the opening records and some fantastic songs that are still haunting at many places. Simultaneously, some hyped movies have been biting the dust in the form of 'Bhale Dongalu'.

Even Nagarjuna's divine presence could not save the film 'Krishnarjuna' from collapsing registering another failure for Vishnuvardhan Babu and soon darshakendra K Raghavendra Rao came up with his debacle 'Pandurangadu' which was more a sleazy treat than spiritual one. The good thing about that was the performance of Balakrishna. Amidst all this chaos, one ray of light came in with the outcome of 'Kantri' giving NTR Jr a hit. His dance, fights and stunts have been gets good graph and stole the limelight.

This was followed by a rather lucky escape for hero Allu Arjun who came in with his 'Parugu' and though it was given a big stick by the critics and audience, given the fact that there was no big release around the film managed to crawl to a decent mark.

The frontline director Puri Jagannadh who came in with his much hyped 'Bujjigadu' and it was solely due to the impressive performance of Prabhas that he was able to keep his head above the water and of course the songs.

Apart from all these, the movie that emerged as super hit out of silence is 'Gamyam'. The new director Krish, gave this most valuable victory to the Tollywood, and he bagged a big film offer with Vaijayanthi banner victory Venkatesh as lead.

Young actor Ram who came back with a vengeance scored a super successful hit with the film 'Ready' and this turned out to be a big hit of sorts.

On the other hand, the biggest disaster of the decade turned out to be 'Kathanayakudu' with Rajinikanth and Jagapati Babu trying their best to save the film from sinking. This was followed by the much hyped 'Dasavatharam' and though the poor story, good presentation, but bored screenplay, but Kamal Hassan impressed with his critically acclaimed hard work and saved the ship.

The film managed to bail out with decent returns though it did not touch a commercial hit. The later half belonged to the small ventures and except ,Ashta Chemma’, 'Kotha Bangaru Lokam', 'Blade Babji', ‘Vinayakudu’ and ‘Yuvatha’ the rest collapsed.

The final tragedy is really matured and elegant movie 'Surya s/o Krishnan' got its share of critical acclaim; such movies are more needed for the society, but did’t succeeded in the commercial line.

So all in all, the only saving grace for Tollywood has been the major chunk of small banner successes and it is about time they gear up with some quality stuff and meaningful stories for the next year.

Autopsy is an upcoming Hollywood horror film, set to be released in Horrorfest III Jan. 9-15 2009.
Basic Story:
It's the middle of the night. You're driving on a lonely road. Suddenly, out of nowhere, another car hits you. When you wake up there's shattered glass all over the pavement, your friends are injured, and the other car is gone.

You're disoriented, hurting--but when you see the ambulance's flashing red and blue lights, you know help has arrived. Emily Johnson, her boyfriend Bobby and their friends Clare and Jude are recent college grads driving cross-country, taking a last vacation together before they face the "real" world.

An accident leaves them hurt and stranded on a lonely Louisiana road. When the ambulance arrives, it whisks them to Mercy Hospital. With a minimal staff and many of its floors empty, the hospital is an eerie place--but that's only the beginning.

The staff is conducting inhuman experiments on helpless patients under the instruction of Dr. Benway, a direct descendant of the infamous New Orleans family that committed atrocities in the 19th century.

Arya & Bala's prestigious film 'Naan Kadavul'
